As part of this year’s Smarter Cities Challenge programme of IBM, the 33 cities in the world to receive the grant were announced.
The Smarter Cities Challenge aims to promote and improve 100 cities in the world, introducing services and technology to make them Smart Cities. The total invested by IBM is around 50 million dollars.
The programme makes all the technology and its engineers knowledge available to these cities, with activity being centred on action points such as rising employment numbers and businesses, revitalising old neighbourhoods, integrating different available ways of transportation, reducing CO2 emissions etc…
