According to a United Nations report the world population will undergo a growth of 75% over the next four decades and will reach 6.300 million by 2050.
By that date, 2050, it is believed that 70 percent of the world’s population will live in cities, which means there are serious challenges when planning and building the cities.
Nowadays the cities’ energy consumption related to the world’s total consumption is of 75 percent. They also produce 80 percent of greenhouse gases.
Seeing the actual data we need to focus on the future, when cities will grow exponentially, like it is already happening in China where there are many cities over 1 million inhabitants, and propose city models that respect the environment and are sustainable for this number of people. A model with automated processes controlled with technology, people’s needs are answered without overpopulation problems.
