Ten cities are either partially or completely banning the use of traditional cars in favor of alternative options. Climate change and the health of residents are some of the reasons being cited for the shift.

One of the alternative transportation methods is the bicycle, which is being touted as an efficient and eco-friendly way to get around.

The list of cities includes Venice, Giethoorn, Tokelau, Leuven, Hydra Island, Zermatt, Bicycle City, Medina of Fes el Bali, and Fazilka. Several Spanish cities are promoting the use of bicycles, including Malaga, Bilbao, Seville, and Vitoria.
