Smart Cities could reduce their energy consumption up to a 40%

The implementation of new smart city systems, for the electricity demand and generation management, such as the ones being installed in the smart cities, will save up to 40% of the electricity consumption.

This is what a body of experts from the University of Seville (US) in Spain stated, they designed a control system that simply and quickly monitors a total of 21 meters feeding from more than a 100 different information sources.

Another achieved and pursued advantage of this dropping consumption is dropping levels of CO2 emissions, since the emissions of harmful gases to the atmosphere are also reduced when reducing the energy consumption.
