It’s Alive: Buildings of the 2050’s
A report from Arup company entitled “It’s Alive” shows us how buildings might look in the year 2050, predicting that they will behave as living organisms, reacting to their environment and the needs of their inhabitants.
The hypothetical buildings would be composed of detachable modules that can be replaced and updated, while energy needs would be covered by the building’s own clean, renewable energy systems (solar panels, wind turbines, etc.) City growth would be mostly vertical: buildings would grow taller to host the whole technological-human “organism” in the least space possible.
