More than 300 Chinese cities have begun to collaborate with telecommunication service operators to “go smart”, while hundreds of others will do so in a near future.
As pointed out by specialist Jiang Defeng, investment in smart cities could overpass the yearly billion yuan (close to 159,000 million dollars) by 2015.
On the other hand, Wu Lun, professor at Beijing University, stated that this sum includes infrastructure, data processing installations and service platforms.
