The European Silicon Valley could soon be born in Skolkovo. The Russian government has decided to transform a zone in the outskirts of Moscow into a big center for innovation and technology.
In the Skolkovo project website, they explain that the goal is to “concentrate international intellectual capital, stimulate the development of technological and breaking projects” in five areas (IT, biomed, space, nuclear technology and energy efficiency.)
According to The Wall Street Journal, Russia plans to invest 4 billion US dollars in the project. Undoubtedly, an overwhelming project which we hope will render the expected results.
