The city of Songdo, near Seoul, is considered one of the high-tech capitals of the world. It was built from scratch using smart technology.
As such, Songdo is an example for smart cities around the world. It was designed with sensors to control temperature, energy consumption, and traffic. These sensors can even let citizens know when a bus will arrive at a stop.
Those buses’ passengers won’t be held up by garbage trucks or faced with the sight of big waste bins scattered around its buildings. Instead, domestic waste is removed via vacuum directly from individual kitchens into a vast network of tunnels leading to a processing center, where trash is sorted, deodorized, and dealt with in a way that is environmentally friendly.
