Spanish Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Information, Victor Calvo-Sotelo, recently reported that smart cities will be a key segment for Spain. The Mayor of La Corunna has introduced four initiatives related to the project “Smart City Corunna”, worth four million euros.
The main objective is to improve the standard of living of citizens. One of the goals of the proposal is to create modern and quality employment.
This new city concept is pushing businesses to hire more professionals to develop new technologies and applications.
In this sense, the Spanish Ministry of Industry intends to encourage the municipalities involved in the nationwide project of smart cities to exchange experiences, thereby pushing the smart cities market which in turn will help to expand business, and generate new employment opportunities.
