PricewaterhouseCoopers conducts survey on using smart cards in public transportation

A survey recently conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) found that half of UK bus and train riders still use paper tickets.

PwC also inquired about the travel habits of these users. When asked what would make them give up the use of traditional tickets and switch to smart technology instead, the majority replied that they would be swayed by incentives.

A 10% discount would be enough for more than half of those surveyed to use a smart payment system.
