“Poynton Regenerated” designed the streets of the future with pedestrians in mind

We would like to share with you a short documentary by Martin Cassini that recounts the story of Poynton, a small English town that got rid of traffic lights, signs, and sidewalks from its downtown area last year in an attempt to revitalize the city and reduce traffic.

The project is an example of a street design concept known as “shared space” and although it seems like it would be chaotic, it actually runs quite smoothly.
